About Us

Keep Old Glory Flying by Jonathan Wild

ACAP Productions, Inc. was incorporated in the State of California in September of 2005, with the goal of increasing public awareness for the necessity to protect the Flag of the United States from ever being desecrated on American soil. Starting with four members in 2005, ACAP’s membership now stands at ten individuals with different ideologies, backgrounds, beliefs and heritages, all united in our ambition to produce quality patriotic entertainment glorifying the country that provides us with all of the freedoms and liberties we so richly enjoy. From its inception, ACAP has become a producer of patriotic dinner shows, showcasing American songs and pictures of American life. For the past four years, ACAP (which comprises the first letters of Americans Concerned About Patriotism) has produced Veterans Day tributes at the world famous Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace, saluting our armed forces, our military, our country, and of course, Old Glory. We were honored to have received the coveted Beautiful Bakersfield Award for this event in 2006 and beginning in 2007 we have been selected by the NBC affiliate in Bakersfield to have our entire program air on LIVE TV throughout all of Kern County California.

Our last production occurred on November 7, 2009, and was both a ratings and theatrical success. In concert with KGET Channel 17 and Kuzz Radio, ACAP Productions set a new attendance record for the Palace, showcased five talented vocalist contest winners with patriotic performances of classics American songs, combined stirring videos, treasured historical footage from the National Archives, and a pictorial salute to America, and thrilled both the live and TV adudience with a rare and electrifying appearance by former Dodger player and current Dodger radio announcer Rick Monday. As millions of Americans know, Rick Monday saved the flag of our country from being burned by protestors in 1976, and during this surprise guest appearance. He agreed to appear, he told the audience, because of what ACAP stands for and the efforts we annually make to protect our flag and honor our armed forces.

As always, a portion of the ticket price to attend the dinner show was donated to a Veteran’s organization or cause, and this year’s recipient was the Fisher House Foundation, an organization which houses and provides all necessities for the famililies of injured soldiers during their treatment and rehablilitation. In addition, this year we also conducted an auction of Bakersfield items and baseball memorabilia, emceed by Rick Monday, with all proceeds going to Fisher House. In total, over $23,000.00 was raised at this dinner and show for this tremendous foundation.

The name of our annual production is KEEP OLD GLORY FLYING, taken from the title of a song written and recorded by one of our founding members, Jonathan Wild. Jonathan, a decorated Vietnam War Veteran, who has toured with USO shows and welcomed home troops from the Gulf War, penned the lyrics for this song in an attempt to show all Americans why the Flag of our country means so much to all of us. ACAP produced a DVD of this song and it won the coveted Country Music Video of the Year at the Los Angles Music Awards in 2006.

ACAP is now entering a new phase of its development and commitment to patriotism with the production of KEEP OLD GLORY FLYING, An American Holiday Tribute: A new and unique DVD to enable all civic organizations, houses of worship, veterans groups, schools and all other entities wishing to engage in American holiday celebrations the opportunity to experience the entire evening we produced without the high costs of hiring live entertainment. This complete DVD patriotic entertainment program saluting our Country, our Flag and our Armed Forces for any or all three of our most celebrated national holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day is now available for nationwide distribution and is discussed in more detail under American Holiday DVD.

We remain committed to our goals and will do whatever we can to continue to honor our troops and veterans, our Country and our Flag, all of which have enabled us to enjoy the freedoms and liberties we so deeply cherish.
